Mr. Moore's RULES AND CONSEQUENCES for ALL classes:

The rules of this class are the foundation of creating a positive learning environment.  Please read these carefully.

1.      WHEN THE TEACHER OR A FELLOW STUDENT IS TALKING,  DO NOT TALK. >>> RAISE YOUR HAND TO TALK.

2.      KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET TO YOURSELF.

3.      DO NOT BOTHER MR. MOORE’S OR ANOTHER STUDENT’S PROPERTY WITHOUT PERMISSION

4.      DO WHAT YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE DOING

5.      BE RESPECTFUL TO Mr. Moore AND YOUR CLASSMATES.  NAME CALLING, CURSING  AND HARASSMENT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

CHEATING ON TEST OR QUIZZES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.  This also includes plagiarism on written assignments.   Violations will result in a 0 grade

If you are disciplined, take responsibility for your actions; arguing will only make it worse

CONSEQUENCES:   UNFORTUNATELY, SOME STUDENTS CHOOSE NOT TO OBEY THESE RULES, SO, FOR ACTIONS THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES

Usually the student knows what action is inappropriate before being told. If you know what you are doing will get you in trouble…. STOP doing it ! nuf said.

1.      your first consequence is a WARNING: A verbal warning to the student, explaining what inappropriate action is being committed.  (THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE)

2.      If student continues with inappropriate behavior,  we will have a private conversation in the hall or after class.  At this time the students seating assignment will change, depending on situation.  You will lose a participation point at this time.

3.      After our talk, if the student continues to not comply, a phone call home explaining the situation to the parent will be made, another participation point is lost

4.      If behavior continues, the student will be written up for a referral, and a total of Five participation points will be lost.  If you are given a referral,  a second phone call home will occur to discuss the inappropriate behavior and referral.  A referral also means a visit to Freshman Center Dean, Mrs. Wells, who will determine the extent of punishment for the offense.

5.      Electronic device offenses will result in the device being confiscated, a write up for the offense, a phone call home, and a parent getting your device back on the next Friday.

SEVERE PROBLEM CLAUSE: If at anytime a student poses a real threat to school/public property, another student, Mr. Moore, or causes an extreme disruption, Mr. Moore will personally remove that student and take them to the  office immediately.   (automatic referral)  * Remember, it is your choice if you disobey the rules, but it is my JOB to make sure students have a good classroom environment in which to learn.
